Split-Body Cold Shear for Wire Rope

The Hydraulic Wire Rope Cutter is a split-body shear for wire rope up to 30 mm. The shear body clamps onto the rope, while the operator stands several meters away at the pump, because the moment a rope is cut it whips violently and can injure anyone close by. The split design puts the operator outside that danger zone.

The cutter works as a cold shear: the blade crushes the rope rather than burning or grinding it, so there is no fire or spark source in gassy mines. The blade is high-strength special steel, hard and wear-resistant, and it is removable for sharpening or replacement, so the body stays in service for years while the blade is the consumable. The shear body itself weighs only 5.2 kg, which lets one worker position it in tight spots.

It is used across metallurgy, mining, oil, and bridge work, and the company notes it has supplied units to major coal groups for maintenance of scraper-conveyor wire rope. Rated shearing force is 180 kN at 63 MPa, with a jaw opening up to 32 mm.

MOQ is one unit. It pairs with the QYB-1.5/63 pneumatic pump or SYB-2S hand pump. Customers who have run the body for three years report replacing the blade twice while the shear body stays in service.
