Checking Prop Setting Pressure

The Single Hydraulic Prop Pressure Tester measures the setting load and working resistance of individual hydraulic props on the longwall face. Props support the roof, and if pressure is too low the roof can converge or collapse; this tester reads each prop in seconds. It is a pressure gauge on a quick coupling that plugs into the prop fill valve.

The locking sleeve and needle are a one-piece structure matching the prop fill valve: push and twist to connect, read, then pull off, with no tools. The gauge is shock-resistant with damping fluid inside, so the needle stays steady despite the vibration on a moving face, and the reading is reliable. The range covers 0-60 MPa, wider than the typical 0-40 MPa prop working band.

The instrument is small enough to carry in a pocket or hang on a belt, weighing 2.1 kg, so each production crew can keep one for routine prop checks. It uses emulsion as the working medium over a 0-20 mm displacement band at accuracy grade 2.5.
